About the Role
The PMO is responsible for ensuring the Project Management team delivers both external and internal projects with a high level of quality, whilst being accountable for the project outcomes to clients and other stakeholders. In addition, the critical focus is to deliver outstanding customer service to customers by providing dedicated, focused and specialist Project Management services in order to meet agreed objectives and delivery timelines. Ensuring the effective implementation of projects in a consistent qualitative way to our customers is crucial as well as acting as a local centre of excellence contributing to a continuous improvement approach in project delivery.
The role requires dealing with projects across spectrum of Security, Modern Applications, Data & AI and Modern Infrastructure based technologies. This is permanent role which may be based out of multiple locations within Australia. It reports to the Head – PMO & Consulting.
Main Duties
- Ownership of project outcomes and timely delivery of projects
- Manage project stakeholders through effective communications to set the right expectations
- Be responsible for the cost, schedule and technical performance of projects
- Effectively work with stakeholders to shape priorities, report progress and respond to challenges.
- Manage customer projects following a defined project management methodology and approach
- Effectively maintain a resource and project implementation plan for each project assigned
- Establish milestones and manage adherence to project plans and schedules
- Identify and proactively manage any project risks and issues
- Ensuring that project decisions, changes, exceptions, issues and risks are managed and recorded
Key Requirements
We are looking for someone with a successful background in leading impactful projects & who has exposure to a a diverse range of industry sectors. You would have the ability to manage multiple projects of complex nature simultaneously & are a natural at customer relations. Key Skills & Experience include:
- Minimum 5 years' experience as a customer-facing Project Manager delivering complex IT security, infrastructure and/or software application projects across mid-market and enterprise environments
- Experience leading projects using Agile or Iterative development methodologies
- Working knowledge and certified in a Project Management methodology eg PRINCE2, Agile
- Strong understanding and application of quality assurance practices
- A growth mindset and can work independently and in collaboration
- Problem Solver and critical thinking
- Relationship building and can connect with peers and stakeholders; customers and colleagues
