About the role  

 

We’re on the lookout for a Business Development Professional to join our B2B sales team in Auckland. This permanent position offers you the chance to work alongside a team of experienced and successful peers who are passionate about sharing their knowledge and driving success. 

 

As a driven and highly motivated BDM, you’ll play a key role in identifying new business opportunities, nurturing existing accounts, and achieving ambitious revenue and profit targets.

Key Responsibilities include: 

 

  • Achieve agreed revenue and profit targets 

  • Proactively prospect and maintain a qualified sales pipeline to support revenue goals and future opportunities 

  • Build and strengthen relationships with both existing and prospective customers 

  • Develop deep industry knowledge and continually upskill to remain effective and informed in the market 

  • Prepare compelling sales proposals aligned to client needs and business objectives 

  • Plan and deliver high-quality sales demonstrations tailored to client requirements 

  • Lead contract negotiations through to completion, in line with company guidelines 

  • Accurately maintain records and track sales activity using Canon’s CRM system 

  • Provide accurate and timely monthly sales forecasts 

  • Ensure the preparation and accuracy of all sales-related documentation   

   

 

About You  

 

Your focus will be on identifying new opportunities, driving growth, and converting prospects into long-term clients. You're proactive and strategic in your approach, with a talent for uncovering client needs and aligning solutions that deliver measurable value. Your resilience, communication skills, and commercial acumen set you apart, and you're energised by the challenge of winning new business. 

 

You’re comfortable engaging with stakeholders at all levels and confident in navigating complex sales cycles. Backed by your in-depth regional insight and passion for technology, you’re ready to take the lead in shaping growth and success in Auckland’s B2B landscape. 

 

We’re looking for someone who demonstrates:   

 

  • Highly self-motivated with a strong focus on achieving results 

  • A collaborative and team-oriented mindset 

  • Experience in B2B solution sales, ideally within the technology sector 

  • Strong understanding of the end-to-end sales process 

  • Confident and engaging presentation and communication skills 

  • Excellent relationship-building and networking abilities 

  • A tenacious, proactive approach to business development 

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite 

  • CRM experience—Salesforce knowledge is a strong advantage
