Scope of the role includes:


We are looking for a Community and Social Media Specialist to manage the strategy, planning and execution of Canon New Zealand’s social media platform - this includes the messaging, content alignment and optimization. You will support the marketing strategy to drive business success and be responsible for community growth and engagement, ensuring we meet campaign objectives to drive conversion.


The role will also bring innovative ideas and opportunities to the forefront to drive Canon’s future success.


  • Lead, develop and execute social media and channel strategy
  • Suggest influencers for activations and photography proposals
  • Act as the first point contact for all agencies’ requirements for social campaign assets, day-to-day activities, and issues
  • Provide support to the Marketing team with events, sponsorships, campaigns and brand activations
  • Stay up to date with new technologies, latest platform features and trends in social media
  • Drive engagement, growth and publish engaging content
  • Actively manage interactions with our community
  • Improve engagement, tactical objectives and content opportunities
  • Support the Marketing Technology Specialist to manage the advertising on Social Media platform


About You


  • Desired but not mandatory is a Degree in Marketing or related field
  • Experience in Social Media and Community management
  • High-level knowledge of Social Medica platforms
  • Effective and positive team member
  • Ability to deliver creative ideas and content
  • Passion for Digital/Social marketing
  • Interest in Photography/Video
  • Strong communication skills both written and verbal
  • Ability to multi-task while handling high-pressure situations
  • Proficient in Adobe Creative Suite
  • HTML/CSS experience would be advantageous
