About the role

This is a rare opportunity in the NZ market to join a global brand in a role where you will create software solutions to meet customer needs. You’ll be involved in building flexible service orientated architecture for web and standalone applications and you’ll drive organisational initiatives maintaining global technology standardisation for Microsoft .Net. In this highly regarded team you play a key role in providing technical leadership within the Canon Business Services development environment

Scope of the role includes:

  • Evaluating new technologies and building capability into Canon Business Services’ existing product stack
  • Driving organisational initiatives and global technology standardisation for Microsoft .Net
  • Developing software systems from defined deliverables within a defined strategy (where necessary) and agreed timeframes.
  • Using initiative to consider alternative strategies and raising alternatives with the Group Development Manager and/or Systems Architect, before use and implementation
  • Supporting Canon Business Services’ Lead Consultants with the technical feasibility and solution design of customers’ requirements
  • Strict adherence to the Software Development Life Cycle

About you

As someone with at least 8 years experience in a similar role you will leverage your tertiary qualifications in computer science and your extensive knowledge of  you possess the following skills and experience:

  • Advanced skills/knowledge in Window services, Frontend, Backend, Web API, database design and implementation, with full stackability.
  • Knowledge and experience of logical and physical database architecture and schema design
  • Programming & Front End Stack:  C#, VB.Net, Net Framework latest, ASP.Net MVC, ASP.Net Web API, ASP.NET Core, WPF, WCF, LINQ, XML,HTML/HTML5, Bootstrap, CSS 3, VBA, JSON,XSLT, JQuery, React JS, Angular JS, Angular 2+, Entity Framework , Enterprise library
  • Database Stack:  SQL Server 2005 -2019
  • BI Stack: SSIS,SSRS,SSAS       

Desired skills and experience includes:

  • Experience in enterprise software development and in house software development.          
  • Capable of/interested in developing others knowledge and skills
  • Build & Unit Testing Tools: SVN, MS Test
  • Experience in building ‘service orientated’ architecture, and integrating the Services using Enterprise Service Bus ‘ESB’ (exposure/reuse orientated).
  • Experience in detection and tuning of SQL performance issues
  • Experience in Network security, Data Security and Cloud movement
  • Experience in Windows Azure Serverless and AWS Cloud Computing (IaaS, PaaS) architectures (desirable)
  • Technical expertise in design and architecture patterns
  • Database Stack:  Oracle, MySQL, MS Access
