About the Role
The Customer Service Engineer role sits within our Service and Support team and reports to the Manager – Service Performance. You’ll play a key role in delivering high-quality hands-on pre-sales and post-sales support to our customers. This is a varied, field-based role where no two days are the same. You’ll install, maintain and troubleshoot hardware and software, support network connectivity, and provide operator training.
Scope of the role includes:
- Diagnose and resolve technical, software and network connectivity issues
- Reactive and proactive servicing, upgrading software/firmware, network connectivity, and installation of hardware and software, in line with established call approach
- Effectively meet and exceed customer's needs
- Deliver against SLAs and keep customers informed
- Conduct site inspections to support installations and upgrades
- Actively assist other Canon staff to enable efficiencies
- Manage service activities, parts inventory and administrative requirements accurately
- Support Canon regional and/or remote customers on an ad hoc basis to meet business obligations
- Keep up to date with current technologies and training, including technical and workplace compliance
- Contribute to and work towards own personal development. Including seeking opportunities to share knowledge with colleagues
- Ensure compliance with safety, quality and sustainability standards
About You
You're someone who enjoys being out in the field, solving problems and working with technology. You build strong customer relationships, work well independently and are always keen to learn something new.
Key skills and experience include:
- Experience as a printer, photocopier or field service technician, with exposure to diagnosing and repairing hardware and software issues
- Experience troubleshooting technical, software and network connectivity issues
- Ability to work independently and manage service activities in a field-based environment
- Strong problem-solving, communication and relationship-building skills
- Industry experience in a similar customer-facing service role highly regarded
- Current and valid driver’s licence
- Restricted electrical licence (REL) - Applicants who currently hold, or can demonstrate a pathway towards obtaining, a Queensland Restricted Electrical Work Licence (REL) relevant to the servicing of business and office equipment may also be considered. Candidates who do not currently hold an REL may be required to provide evidence of relevant qualifications, training and/or industry experience consistent with Queensland Electrical Safety Office licensing requirements.
