About the Role

 

As a Consumer Sales Account Manager, you will play a pivotal role in executing the business plans of our National Account teams and driving the success of Canon’s consumer product portfolio. You will champion consumer products’ sell through, elevate in store execution and build strong relationships with key resellers to deliver exceptional consumer experiences. This role blends sales activation, training, account management and operational excellence, it is ideal for someone who thrives in a dynamic retail environment and is passionate about bringing innovative products to life for customers. Based in Sydney, you will manage an established portfolio of retail customers across NSW while actively identifying and pursuing new business opportunities. Reporting to the National Field Sales Supervisor, this role offers flexible work from home options and requires regional travel.

 

Scope of the Role

 

  • Drive sell through of Canon’s products across national accounts by delivering impactful point of sale execution, high quality reseller training and providing high quality consumer experiences.
  • Support repeat and new product sales by ensuring strong in store presence, effective product communication and timely follow‑up with key resellers.
  • Build and maintain trusted customer relationships through consistent communication, proactive issue resolution and delivery against business priorities.
  • Execute new product launches, promotional activities and cooperative marketing initiatives in collaboration with internal teams and national account partners.
  • Manage account activity through maintaining call cycles, submitting timely reporting and ensuring all training, events and expenditures align with policy and budget.
  • Safeguard company assets, including product samples and equipment, while adhering to cost control processes and operational standards.


About you
 

To succeed in this role, you will bring proven retail account management experience and a strong track record of building productive customer relationships that drive satisfaction and loyalty. You will be confident managing a sales territory, prioritising your time and resources to retain existing business while uncovering new opportunities. Experience representing consumer durable products across multi store, national and corporate retail environments is essential, along with solid product knowledge and an ability to stay across industry trends. You will demonstrate resilience, initiative and highly developed communication, negotiation and sales skills, supported by the ability to deliver professional presentations that clearly articulate product benefits, promotional programs and market insights. Tertiary qualifications in sales, marketing or business and refined interpersonal sales techniques are desirable and will further strengthen your capability to perform this role.
