About the Role

As a Cloud Engineer, you will be a critical member of a high performing Cloud & Infrastructure Services team responsible for the administration, management, and maintenance across Cloud deployments. This role is integral to the success of the well-established and growing Cloud & Infrastructure Services practice, ensuring our portfolio of technology services are delivered and maintained to a high standard. This is a hybrid role which is open to be based from multiple locations & reports into the Manager – Cloud Services.

Main Duties

  • Maintenance and management of the Cloud (AWS) & RHEL deployments across various Infrastructure & Platform services
  • Develop, support and enhance current deployments of Cloud services including AWS, Azure and Private Cloud deployments (Wintel & RHEL)
  • Developing and maintaining secure and reliable Cloud infrastructure
  • Developing and delivering various components of Cloud migrations
  • Optimizing the architecture and infrastructure of Cloud services
  • Solid understanding of current Cloud trends and technologies
  • Follow standardised ITIL frameworks relating to Incident, Security, Problem and Change Management processes
  • Communicate effectively with the internal and external stakeholders
  • Create and maintain strong technical documentation for managed systems and services
  • Provide proactive operational support to colleagues and customers as required
  • Be an SME contributor for projects and initiatives across managed deployments
  • Fulfilment of BAU requests, project delivery tasks and technology initiatives
  • Develop and enhance technology processes to improve efficiencies across the deployment base

About You

The position will require someone with proven technical experience managing, maintaining, enhancing, and further developing use of public/private cloud services, utilising best practices to ensure maximum uptime, performance and optimisation across services utilised. This is a great opportunity for an experienced Cloud Engineer to join a highly skilled technical team, providing exposure to a wide range of technologies disciplines. Key skills & experience include:

  • At least 4+ years in managing, configuring, and maintaining cloud deployments
  • At least 2+ years building, developing, and optimising various cloud platform technologies across various IaaS, PaaS and Private cloud services
  • Well-rounded expertise in AWS technologies and services
  • Well-rounded expertise in RHEL deployments including RHEL for Oracle and various other Linux distributions
  • Knowledge of DevOps concepts, tools and languages (CloudFormation, PowerShell, Terraform, Kubernetes, CI/CD, GitHub, Ansible, Azure ARM, etc)
  • Experience in developing, managing, and supporting automation tools, processes, and runbooks across various technologies
  • Extensive knowledge with Microsoft Server technology products
  • Knowledge across other Cloud providers such as Microsoft Azure
