About the Role

 

The Information Technology Group (IT) is responsible for delivering innovative solutions and quality services to enable Canon Oceania to succeed. This includes strategic, technical and operational support for the running of Canon’s business systems, telecommunications and infrastructure. It is also responsible for providing advice on technology directions, its implementation and maintenance and the overall security of digital and other business systems.

 

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Cloud Engineer with 50-50 split between project work & operations. This is a Macquarie Park based hybrid role reporting to the Infrastructure & Datacentre Manager.

 

Scope of Role

 

  • Setup and administration of cloud environments
  • Collaborate in design and planning of cloud migrations and new development
  • Troubleshoot system issues, resolving and documenting solutions
  • Monitor and maintain systems and logs
  • Answer calls and tickets to support end users with applications, hardware, software and networking
  • Create and maintain system documentation and knowledge base articles
  • Develop and maintain technical standards and support documentation
  • Design and deliver solutions to the business as part of a project team or ad-hoc as required

 

About You

 

We are looking for someone who is capable of collaborating in a team with applications, networks, business/architecture and others to co-design, develop and implement cloud solutions which are simple, resilient and efficient. Someone who can be consultative and work through designing environments as well as doing the hands-on work required. Key skills & experience include:

 

  • Solid background in systems admin but with 4+ years' experience working in Cloud admin. Viewed as a SME to the point where they are a knowledge sharer/expert.
  • Public Cloud - Azure essential. AWS a bonus
  • Containers - Kubernetes essential
  • Infrastructure as Code - Terraform or similar
  • CI/CD - Azure Devops, Jenkins, and Circles or similar
  • Observability - Prometheus/Grafana, New Relic or similar
