About the Role

The Information Technology Group (IT) is responsible for delivering innovative solutions and quality services to enable Canon Australia to succeed.  This includes strategic, technical and operational support for the running of Canon’s business systems, telecommunications and infrastructure. It is also responsible for providing advice on technology directions, its implementation and maintenance and the overall security of digital and other business systems. The Cloud Engineer (Corporate IT) would be responsible for setting up & administering cloud environments for Canon. This is a Macquarie Park based role reporting to the IT Operations Manager.

Main Duties

  • Setup and administration of cloud environments
  • Collaborate in design and planning of cloud migrations and new development
  • Troubleshoot system issues, resolving and documenting solutions
  • Monitor and maintain systems and logs
  • Answer calls and tickets to support end users with applications, hardware, software and networking
  • Create and maintain system documentation and knowledge base articles
  • Develop and maintain technical standards and support documentation
  • System support and more complex incident resolution
  • Meet or exceed agreed service levels and agreed standards for accessibility, performance, reliability and availability of these services
  • Ensure relevant service changes are released smoothly into support in line with business agility and specific business requirements
  • Work with key stakeholders to ensure systems and processes are aligned to Canon’s IT Policy
  • Design and deliver solutions to the business as part of a project team or ad-hoc as required

 

About You

You will be capable of collaborating in a team with applications, networks, business/architecture and others to co-design, develop and implement cloud solutions which are simple, resilient and efficient. You would ideally have a consultative approach & can work through designing environments as well as carry out the requisite hands-on tasks.

Key Skills & Experience include –

  • Solid background in systems admin but with 4+ years’ experience working in Cloud admin. Viewed as a SME to the point where they are a knowledge sharer/expert.
  • Public Cloud – Azure essential. AWS a bonus
  • Containers - Kubernetes essential 
  • Infrastructure as Code - Terraform or similar 
  • CI/CD - Azure Devops, Jenkins, and Circles or similar 
  • Observability - Prometheus/Grafana, New Relic or similar  
  • Database - Postgres or MySQL
  • OS - Linux (preferred) though open to Windows background
