About the Role

The main role of Corporate Communications function is to protect and enhance Canon’s corporate reputation, by delivering professional, timely and accurate information and advice across all areas of Canon and to external stakeholders.

The role presents a fantastic opportunity for someone who wishes to gain experience across diverse facets of an in-house corporate communications function. It ranges from drafting, designing and delivery of communications to coordinating events for the business. It involves liasing with internal departments as well as external vendors. It’s a hands-on role with a strong focus on customer service and creates pathway for progression within the corporate communications space.

The role is hybrid, offering the flexibility of working from home and the office in Macquarie Park, NSW. It reports to the Manager – Corporate Communications.


Scope of Role

  • Write/edit internal communications as required for various corporate communications channels.
  • Support the delivery of digital communications – emails, e-newsletters, intranet updates, social (LinkedIn), digital content for screens.
  • Event coordination including support of the Event Manager with event preparation, event set-up, liaison with suppliers and other event coordination tasks as required.
  • Manage delivery of internal programs and campaigns liaising with locations and offices as required
  • Graphic design of simple communication tools – posters, postcards, screens, social media assets and presentation development and editing.
  • Support and administration of charity/donations and sponsorship process.
  • Manage stakeholder feedback channels (various email and social accounts).
  • Manage corporate merchandise orders and distribution.
  • Manage the Corporate Communications team’s payments and procurement process.


About You

We are looking for someone who is not only a great communicator but also passionate about executing corporate events. Someone who is a self-starter, enthusiastic and finds comfort, operating in a fast-paced environment. Managing stakeholders and providing exemplary customer service comes naturally to them. It is essential that they hold relevant qualifications in either Communications, or related field. It is highly desirable that they possess at least two years experience in a coordinator or similar role. Key requirements include:

  • Content Management system experience including content creation and editing
  • Intermediate skills in using Adobe Photoshop (Creative Suite a bonus), need at least basic editing experience
  • Intermediate Microsoft Office skills (particularly PowerPoint)
