About the Role
We are looking for a hands-on Creative Lead to join Canon’s in-house Brand and Creative team. This is an individual contributor role focused on concept development and execution, ideal for a mid-senior Designer or Art Director who enjoys being on the tools and applying their craft across campaigns, content and brand experiences.
Acting as both a thinker and maker, you will translate strategic direction into clear, effective creative, developing key visuals, messaging frameworks and adaptable design systems that scale across channels, formats and touchpoints, while ensuring consistency, quality and alignment to Canon’s brand platform. You will be responsible for developing and executing high quality creative across digital, retail, social, print and experiential touchpoints, applying strong design craft and a clear understanding of messaging hierarchies to ensure work is effective across different formats and environments.
Working closely with key internal stakeholders across Marketing, Retail and Digital as well as external partners, you will help deliver integrated work across Canon’s ecosystem. This role reports to the Manager, Brand and Creative.
Scope of Role
- Originate creative concepts and campaign narratives that bring Canon’s brand to life across digital, retail, social and experiential environments.
- Lead visual direction and layouts, developing key visuals, templates and asset systems ready for roll out.
- Craft channel-smart headlines and copy that align with brand voice and campaign strategy.
- Champion brand guardianship, working within established brand guidelines while pushing creative to elevate and evolve the brand.
- Brief and collaborate with both internal teams and external creative suppliers to deliver high-quality, integrated work.
- Translate concepts into assets across motion/video, stills, experiential/event collateral, web, email and social content.
- Ensure creative work is aligned to objectives, timelines and budgets, and continuously optimise based on data and results.
What You Bring
- A portfolio showcasing conceptually strong layouts, concepts and campaigns across channels.
- Strong background in art direction or design, with the ability to produce polished layouts, creative concepts and systems hands-on.
- Background in either agency or in-house environments as a mid-senior designer or art director on consumer tech, lifestyle or retail brands (consumer tech experience a plus).
- Strong copywriting craft across headlines and short-form messaging.
- Solid craft of brand systems, templates and visual frameworks, with the ability to build creative that scales.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to deliver high-quality work at pace.
- Proficiency with Adobe Creative Cloud, Figma and familiarity with creative production workflows across stills, video and digital.
- A confident collaborator, able to work solo while bringing others on the journey.
- A curious, proactive mindset and a passion for turning great creative into measurable brand impact.
