About the Role
We are looking for a concept-driven Creative Lead to join Canon’s in-house Brand and Creative team. This is a hands-on sole contributor role, ideal for a mid-senior Designer or Art Director looking to step out of agency and into an in-house role with creative ownership.
You will shape ideas and layouts that power our campaigns, activations and channel content, working closely with internal stakeholders across Product, Marketing, Retail and Digital teams, and external partners including designers, production teams, agencies, photographers and videographers to bring ideas to life across Canon’s ecosystem. This role reports to the Manager, Brand and Creative.
Scope of Role
- Originate creative concepts and campaign narratives that bring Canon’s brand to life across digital, retail, social and experiential environments.
- Lead visual direction and layouts, developing key visuals, templates and asset systems ready for roll out.
- Craft channel-smart headlines and copy that align with brand voice and campaign strategy.
- Champion brand guardianship, working within established brand guidelines while pushing creative to elevate and evolve the brand.
- Brief and collaborate with both internal teams and external creative suppliers to deliver high-quality, integrated work.
- Translate concepts into assets across motion/video, stills, experiential/event collateral, web, email and social content.
- Ensure creative work is aligned to objectives, timelines and budgets, and continuously optimise based on data and results.
What You Bring
- A portfolio showcasing conceptually strong layouts, concepts and campaigns across channels.
- Strong background in art direction or design, with the ability to produce polished layouts and creative concepts hands-on.
- Agency-side experience as a mid-senior designer or art director on consumer tech, lifestyle or retail brands, and the desire to move in-house and lead creative from the brand side.
- Strong copywriting craft across headlines and short-form messaging.
- Solid craft of brand systems, templates and visual frameworks, with the ability to build creative that scales.
- Proficiency with Adobe Creative Cloud, Figma and familiarity with creative production workflows across stills, video and digital.
- A confident collaborator, able to work solo while bringing others on the journey – from briefing freelancers to presenting ideas internally.
- A curious, proactive mindset and a passion for turning great creative into measurable brand impact.
