About the Role

As the world continues to open up post COVID-19, we are ramping up our internal and external corporate events program. This presents a great opportunity for an experienced Events Specialist to join the Canon team. As a key member of our Corporate Communications team, you’ll manage a wide variety of high profile external and internal events for Canon Australia, and you’ll have the opportunity to make a real impact to our business in this hands-on and wide-ranging role.


Scope of the role includes:

  • To develop concepts for, and manage, all internal corporate events (Kick Off events, Conferences, Advocacy events).
  • To develop concepts for, and manage, all key external corporate events (Conferences, customer events, incentive trips).
  • To advise on, and ensure compliance to, all event QSE requirements, specifically including COVID-safe practices.
  • To coordinate all internal stakeholders in relation to these events.
  • To manage agency relationships for delivery of event services.
  • To lead events related to corporate sponsorships (specifically Rugby World Cup 2021/22)
  • To run events in line with Canon’s Brand Guidelines across Oceania
  • To provide design expertise for events (digital, invites, booklets, posters) where capacity allows.


About you

You bring a wealth of events management experience to the role, and you know how to combine your creativity, problem solving skills and eye for detail to deliver a really great experience for our internal and external stakeholders. Whilst you’ll work within a team, you’re comfortable in an autonomous role.

Key skills and experience include;

  • 5+ years’ experience in an events position
  • Qualifications in Event Management
  • High level of verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong, proven, event and/or project management skills
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Ability to set and maintain budgets
  • Previous experience managing agencies
  • A desire to do whatever it takes to provide a better-than-expected customer experience
