About the Role

We’re looking for a Financial Analyst (fluent Japanese speaker) to join our Budget & Reporting team, supporting the delivery of high-quality financial insights across Australia, New Zealand and Canon Inc in Tokyo.

In this role, you’ll play a key part in turning complex financial data into clear, meaningful insights that support decision-making at senior leadership level. You’ll be closely involved in budgeting and forecasting cycles, regular management reporting, and Japan-facing financial communication, providing exposure to both local and global stakeholders.

Key responsibilities include:

• Analysing financial data to identify trends, variances and opportunities to improve business performance
• Supporting budgeting and forecasting processes, including variance analysis and insightful commentary
• Preparing regular management reports, presentations and written commentary for senior leaders and Canon Inc in Japan
• Building and maintaining financial models to support strategic and operational decision-making
• Partnering with stakeholders across the business to translate complex financial information into actionable recommendations
• Supporting compliance, risk management and audit requirements
• Identifying and implementing process improvements to enhance reporting quality, accuracy and efficiency

About You

You’re a detail-oriented Financial Analyst who enjoys working with data and partnering with stakeholders to drive better commercial outcomes. You’re confident working across cultures and time zones, with a strong understanding of Japanese business practices and ways of working.

You bring a balance of strong technical capability and clear, professional communication.

You’ll bring:

• Proven experience in financial analysis and P&L management
• Strong analytical skills with a high level of attention to detail
• Intermediate to advanced Excel skills (Access skills beneficial)
• The ability to interpret complex financial information and provide clear, practical recommendations
• Strong stakeholder management skills and confidence working with senior leaders
• Fluent Japanese and English (written and verbal), with experience working with Japanese organisations
• Tertiary qualifications in Accounting or Business (CA/CPA desirable)
