About the Role

The IT Infrastructure Support Engineer is responsible for providing technical infrastructure support in the customer environment. The role requires a good range of technical capabilities in line with technologies that are to be managed for customers as well as the ability to troubleshoot issues. The role reports to the Enterprise Services Manager.

Main Duties

  • Provide 2nd level technical infrastructure support
  • Manage customer infrastructures – monitoring, reporting, and maintaining Infrastructure as required
  • Adhere to incident, security, problem and change management processes as per company/customer standards (ITIL Framework)
  • Perform onsite maintenance and troubleshooting when required
  • Amend and maintain technical documentation and knowledge base for HIT customer environments.
  • Provide escalated service desk support from service desk teams
  • Provide detailed information about work undertaken before escalating to the infrastructure senior support engineers.
  • Fulfilment of service requests
  • Provide after hours on-call assistance and/or escalation on a rotating basis
  • Attend customer meetings, provide reports to customers where required. This may include (but not limited to) - Daily Checks, Monthly reports, Post Incident reports

About You

To be successful in this role, you will possess strong experience in AD, Exchange, Azure as well as VMWare, Storage, Backup. Exposure to infrastructure monitoring would be preferred. Key skills & experience –

  • 5 years or more experience in an Infrastructure Support role, preferably including experience in a Managed Services Environment
  • Valid MCSE or MCSA in Windows Server 2012 or above
  • Azure AZ-104 Microsoft Azure Administrator
  • MS-100: Microsoft 365 Identity and Services
  • Strong understanding and demonstrated experience in the use of following technologies;
    • Microsoft O365, Microsoft Azure
    • Microsoft Server 2012 or above
    • Microsoft Active Directory (DNS, DHCP, Site & Services, Group Policy)
    • Microsoft Exchange 2013 or above
    • VMware vSphere 6.0 or above
  • Network (fundamentals)
