About the role

 

As an infrastructure Support engineer this role requires a good range of technical capabilities in line with technologies we manage for our customers as well as the ability to troubleshoot issues and leading proper root cause analysis to drive down the re-occurrence of similar incidents.

 

Responsibilities include:

 

  • Managing customer infrastructures – monitoring, reporting and maintaining network and security Infrastructure as required
  • Provide 3rd level technical network infrastructure support
  • Manage the network infrastructure for HIT customer environments.
  • Adhere to Incident, Security, Problem and Change Management processes as per HIT/customer standards (ITIL Framework)
  • Perform onsite maintenance and troubleshooting when required
  • Create and maintain technical documentation for HIT customer environments
  • Provide recommendations to HIT customers and sales staff for improvements in infrastructure configuration and deliverables
  • Provide assistance in any compliance or security audits that Harbour IT undertakes
  • Mentor and coach other Level 2, Level 3 and IT Operations Team members in developing appropriate Network skills.
  • Be an escalation point for Projects and other Harbour IT teams in relation to Network and security specific matters
  • Attend Customer Meetings (where applicable)
  • Provide reports to Customers where required. This may include ( but not limited to);
    • Daily Checks
    • Monthly reports
    • Post Incident reports
  • To provide after hours on-call assistance and/or escalation on a rotating basis

 

About you

 

  • Minimum 3- 5 years’ experience in an Infrastructure Support role, preferably including experience in a Managed Services Environment, specializing in Network and security fundamentals.
  • Must have current CCNP (or equivalent) certification
  • Appropriate Tertiary qualifications and/or IT Industry Certifications in a Network specific technology. Including Cisco, Juniper & Palo Alto

The following qualifications and experience are desirable;

  • Experience in a Managed Services or similar environment.
  • ITIL v4 Foundation certificate (Must be obtained before the end of probationary period).
