About the Role


The Infrastructure Support role is part of the infrastructure support team responsible for the management of all our infrastructure managed customers. These customers rely on Harbour IT to keep their Infrastructure running and meeting their needs which in turn allows the customer to focus on running their business. Infrastructure Management is one of Harbour IT’s key products and is critical to the success of the business.


Responsibilities include:


  • Managing customer infrastructures – monitoring, reporting, and maintaining SQL Infrastructures as required
  • Provide 3rd level technical SQL infrastructure support
  • Identify risks as part of on-boarding activities around SQL technical solutions and provide recommendations for improvements and enhancements to customers
  • Create and maintain technical documentation for HIT customer environments
  • Perform proper root cause analysis and fixes to drive down the re-occurrence of similar incidents.
  • Be an escalation point for Projects and other Harbour IT teams in relation to SQL specific matters on.
  • Perform onsite maintenance, advance troubleshooting, and root cause analysis of SQL issues as and when required.


About You:


Key Qualifications, Certifications & Training:

  • Minimum 3-5years’ experience in an IT Infrastructure Support role, preferably including experience in a Managed Services Environment
  • Must have current MCSA : SQL Server 2012 certification or above
  • ITIL v4 Foundation certificate (Must be obtained before the end of probationary period).
  • Strong understanding and demonstrated experience in the use of following technologies;
    • Strong SQL database administration experience, SQL 2008 and above, including installation, performance optimization and support
    • Provide support on Database backup, restorations, verification, including SQL backup tuning, maintenance plans and disaster recovery.
    • Support redundancy and reliability plans, including Always On, Log Shipping, Clustering, Failover Clustering.
    • Experience working on Azure platforms and managing Azure PAAS solutions
