About the Role

The purpose of the Product Planning department is to ensure continued supply of Canon merchandise, parts and consumables across Oceania whilst maintaining optimal inventory levels in line with Canon Australia’s stock strategies. It oversees procurement of Canon merchandise, parts, and consumables, and requires substantial liaison with Canon Inc. This department is also responsible for product set ups, managing stock allocations, reducing slow moving inventory, and coordinating with various internal departments to have right inventory across Oceania.

The role involves planning, forecasting, reviewing stock levels for product lines & follow up reporting. This is a Macquarie Park based role with work from home options. It reports to the Senior Manager – Product Planning.

Main Duties

  • Monitor and maintain correct stock levels across Oceania
  • Maintain product profile in ERP as required
  • Analyse and forecast demand of CINC and local products based on sales history, stock situation, inventory targets and place orders per stipulated process
  • Learn and maintain capability within CINC and vendor systems as applicable
  • Minimise backorders and supply ETA for awaiting items to all parties involved
  • Process Inventory related transactions as required
  • Projects as assigned

About You

You are someone with excellent organisation skills with minimum 2 years experience in product planning/inventory management in medium to large organisations. Your ability to work effectively with various stakeholders within a sales business is key and you thrive in a deadline driven environment. Your working knowledge of Microsoft D365 and advanced excel skills will be viewed advantageously. Key skills include:

  • Ability to identifying inventory-related issues and developing effective solutions to minimise customer impact
  • Strong analytical and decision making abilities
  • High level of accuracy and attention to detail
  • Capability to prioritise tasks to meet deadlines
  • Excellent verbal communication and written communication skills
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel knowledge including macro skills
  • Ability to work in a highly dynamic environment with growth mindset
