About the Role

The Solutions business unit is responsible for delivering outstanding solutions and business transformation services to customers across our key practice areas Security, Modern Applications, Data and AI and Modern Infrastructure services. These practices provide presales and consulting services across CBS and deliver project-based as well as ongoing managed services solutions to customers. The Presales team drives sales and delivery in order to build/maintain relationships between the business and customers. 

As part of the Solutions team, the Licensing Specialist is responsible for analysing customer requirements and determining the optimal licensing model. It also involves addressing licensing related queries and structuring optimal pricing for proposals. You will assist in designing Microsoft licensing deals, including negotiations with Microsoft and distributors. You would also closely work with the Sales team in developing licensing strategies that help win new customers. The role has the flexibility of being based from multiple locations. It reports to the Head of Technology Solutions.

Scope of Role

•    Understand a client's business needs and technology landscape to determine the optimal Microsoft licensing model (e.g., Enterprise Agreement,
      Product Key Agreement, user-based licensing, device-based licensing, and volume licensing programs and so on)
•    Develop and implement value add services to Customers and internally for CBS including licensing costs, provide insights to additional functionality the customer’s licenses can leverage without additional cost thereby introducing other CBS services into the account.
•    Work closely with account managers to identify upsell and cross-sell opportunities within existing customer accounts. 
•    Generate reports that can be used by the operations teams to track license usage, identify trends, and demonstrate the value of licensing
      optimisation efforts to our customers. 
•    Provide internal training to stakeholders within the client organisation regarding Microsoft licensing best practices and key terms, latest changes in
     Microsoft licensing, products, programs & policies and the value of optimising licenses
•    Effectively troubleshoot licensing issues and provide solutions to complex licensing challenges, queries or issues related to provisioning, activation of
      licenses, renewals, reservations etc. 
•    Engage with customers on a consultative and strategic level in order to develop strategic plans, roadmaps and initiatives

About You

We are looking for an established Licensing Specialist who possesses commercial acumen and the ability to structure licensing deals effectively. Their experience of working in an MSP or Microsoft partner environment is essential as is their ability to communicate licensing complexities in simple and business-friendly language. Holding Microsoft certifications in licensing (e.g., Microsoft Certified: Licensing Solutions Expert) are a plus. Skills and Experience include -

•    Proven experience in Microsoft licensing across CSP, EA, MCA, and Open Value models. 
•    Strong understanding of Microsoft cloud solutions (M365, Azure, D365, Power Platform). 
•    Ability to prepare quality written correspondence, and internal and external-facing documentation.
•    Solid knowledge/understanding of Licensing for other Software vendors, including VMware, Citrix (desirable)
