About the Role

This is a hybrid role with project management and team leadership responsibilities. The projects will be centred around deploying printers, secure print software and managed services. The role is responsible for helping align the planned business objectives of both the customer as well as Canon. It also ensures that project management is delivered in a consistent and qualitative manner to customers while contributing to the continuous improvement in the project office.

As a Team Leader, the role will focus on managing lead responsibilities, sharing best practices between key stakeholders as well as looking after and motivating direct reportees on day-to-day activities to achieve goals and objectives. The role holder will validate and ensure that the services can be successfully delivered to our customers by the PMs and Support Resources.

This is a Macquarie Park based role reporting to the Manager – Project Management Office.

Scope of Role

Project Management –

 

  • Defining, leading, planning, monitoring, controlling and delivering customer projects with the scope of completing these projects on-time, on-budget to the required quality and desired outcome of both the customer and Canon. 
  • Coordinate customer projects following the project management methodology from the initial identification of the customer need through to project sign off.
  • Develop, maintain, and track the project schedule to ensure timely delivery of milestones, manage dependencies, and adjust timelines as needed to keep the project on track.
  • Act as primary nominated Canon representative to the customer with respect to participation in project related meetings.
  • Plan, manage and own execution of PMO initiatives to ensure delivery of exceptional Project Management services and standardisation of customer project activities

Team Leadership –

  • Continuously steer the team towards achieving required KPI's and business objectives
  • Provide leadership across key areas and not limited to Team communication, Career planning, Canon values, Personal development program & training
  • Work closely with PMO Manager National Manager - Client Services and Service Delivery team regarding future direction planning and compliance to key business objectives in Services and Support
  • Provide timely reporting to management around performance of the team and direct reports
  • Primary point of reference for escalations

About You

We are looking for someone who possesses strong project management experience and has managed small to medium sized team. Someone with a sound understanding of PMO frameworks and processes coupled with expertise in PMO Governance, relevant project management/technical training. You thrive on juggling multiple projects at once and you know how to put customers at the heart of what you do. Your working knowledge of PRINCE2 or other PM methodology and your experience of providing training to end users and business managers will stand you in good stead. You will have a growth mindset and an appetite to work with new and emerging technology. Your experience in hardware deployment projects is crucial to the functioning of this role. Key Skills & Experience include:

  • 10+ years Project Management experience
  • Experience in delivering Hardware related projects
  • Experience presenting Project Management & Transition methodologies, frameworks and operational processes to customers
  • Team Management
