About the Role

The purpose of this role is to lead the development and execution of clear product strategy and training for consumer imaging products as well as other product categories within Canon’s consumer products portfolio across Australia and NZ markets. It involves determining sound product roadmaps, positioning and pricing, ensuring clear communication of product benefits and effectively managing P&L’s and product lifecycles. Training responsibilities include in-person training for Canon staff, external retail staff and consumers, in addition to content management of eLearning platforms and creation of product related content which targets a wider audience.

 Based in Macquarie Park, key requirements of the role include regular travel within Australia & New Zealand as well as ability to work flexible hours. Reporting to Senior Manager – Product Marketing, this is a hybrid role with work from home options.

Main Duties

  • Be the go-to-person for the business across your assigned categories, including consumer and professional cameras & lenses, accessories, binoculars and new concepts
  • Assist Professional team as required in other related pro product categories
  • Lead content strategy, development and delivery for both face-to-face training and eLearning training platforms
  • Alongside Senior Product Manager and Product Planning managers, lead advocacy for Australia and NZ markets on communications with Canon Inc.
  • Within your assigned product categories, identify issues and opportunities across the 4 P's – Product, Price, Place, Promotion

About You

We are looking for a skilled Product Manager with a demonstrated ability of using creative ways to resolve business and communication challenges. You possess analytical skills & business acumen which supplement your strategic thinking. Project Management or experience in Team Management & business coaching is highly preferred. Key skills & experience include:

  • 5+ yrs product management experience in complex multi-segment channels
  • Proven hands on experience in designing and delivering customer centric, product marketing and training programs
  • Demonstrated hands on experience in owning and managing product lifecycles
  • Demonstrated ability to drive and manage P&L outcomes
  • Tertiary marketing qualifications
  • Ability to work with large amounts of data to draw conclusion and recommendations for the business
  • Demonstrated focus in being pro-active in proposing process improvements, managing the change and delivering results on plans for change
