About the Role

As a Senior Cloud Engineer, you will be a critical member of a high performing Cloud team that manages and operates Cloud Applications, Platforms, Systems and Automation for a market leading Cloud and Managed Services provider. Reporting directly to the Manager - Cloud Apps, Systems & Automation, this role is integral to the success of the well-established and growing Cloud practice, ensuring our portfolio of technology services are delivered and maintained to a high standard.

The role will have a significant focus on project work rather than BAU tasks. This is a rare opportunity for a Cloud Engineer to join a growing team, providing exposure to a portfolio of great technology and offering the chance to be part of the execution of upcoming project initiatives, platform enhancements and growth.

This is a permanent role with flexible work from home options & may be based out of multiple locations within Australia.

Main Duties

  • Maintenance, support and management of the Cloud Infrastructure, Services and System Tools pertaining to our Managed Services offerings
  • Ensure internal stakeholders and customers are making full use of the Cloud Services and Systems we implement and maintain
  • Manage current suite of Monitoring, Observability, Infrastructure, and other platforms as required
  • Follow standardised ITIL frameworks relating to Incident, Security, Problem and Change Management processes
  • Create and maintain strong technical documentation for Cloud platforms, systems, and services
  • Provide SME level proactive and reactive operational support to colleagues and customers as required
  • Be an SME escalation point for Projects and other CBSA teams in relation to various system management tools
  • Fulfilment of BAU Service Requests, project delivery tasks and business initiatives
  • Attend customer meetings and workshops where applicable
  • Develop and enhance technology processes to improve efficiencies across the customer base

About You

The role will require a motivated and passionate technology enthusiast to be part of the execution of an evolving Cloud strategy. The position will require someone with proven technical experience managing, maintaining, enhancing, and growing enterprise level cloud environments, utilising best of breed and next generation technologies. It will be highly advantageous to have experience in monitoring and next-generation observability technologies such as Grafana, Loki and Prometheus (or similar) to help drive our observability transformation project. Key skills & experience include:

  • At least 5+ years in managing, configuring, enhancing, and maintaining Infrastructure & Wintel/Linux deployments across cloud and on-prem environment
  • Strong expertise in Infrastructure, Cloud & Wintel/Linux technologies such as:
    • Windows Server & Linux Operating Systems
    • Microsoft technology services such as Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, Group Policy, etc
    • Microsoft Azure & O365 products and services
    • Azure AD and Identity Services
    • Network (routing, switching & firewall) configuration and deployment fundamentals
    • Virtual and Remote App services such as RDS, AVD & Citrix
    • On-prem cloud technologies (virtualisation)
    • Scripting experience with PowerShell and Azure CLI
  • Ability to make decisions or accept escalations as an expert SME where appropriate
