About the Role
You will play a pivotal role within our high performing Infrastructure Services team, taking ownership of critical network operations to ensure seamless performance and high availability across our customer environments. You will help drive a shift toward proactive, preventative network management by using monitoring tools and operational insights to identify and resolve issues before they impact our customers. Your expertise will be key in driving how we observe, manage and optimise the networks we support, fostering a culture of continuous visibility, stability, and improvement. While the role is anchored in BAU excellence, you will contribute to project-based initiatives across areas such as LAN, WAN, SD‑WAN, cloud networking, next generation infrastructure as well as collaborating with cross functional teams to deliver innovative solutions. This role offers the opportunity to act as a trusted advisor, shape technical delivery, develop roadmaps, mentor team and influence the ongoing growth of our managed network services. The role is based in Macquarie Park and offers the flexibility to work from home two days per week.
Scope of the Role
- Act as the subject matter expert for managed service customers, maintaining accurate network documentation and ensuring smooth project handovers
- Manage and optimise a broad range of network services across on‑premises, datacentre, cloud, LAN, WAN and security devices and appliances
- Develop, deploy, support and enhance secure, reliable, and high‑performing network infrastructure across diverse solutions and platforms
- Improve the architecture and performance of deployed network services while developing strong technical documentation and operational processes
- Deliver service requests, small‑scale projects, and contribute to wider technology initiatives within the managed services environment
- Drive continuous improvement by refining technology processes and enhancing efficiency across the network deployment base
- Identify opportunities to optimize customer network environments
- Collaborate with Service Delivery Managers to propose improvements and aid in creating non-standard service requests
- Provide Technical leadership and share expertise to uplift processes and procedures
About you
The role calls for a motivated, customer focused, and outcome driven network professional who thrives in a fast-paced managed services environment. You will bring hands on experience managing, delivering and enhancing enterprise level network services, along with the ability to operate across complex environments. You thrive in delivering operational excellence and enjoy blending it with project delivery. You are comfortable coaching engineers as part of the collaborative and cohesive ecosystem. Your ability to translate business outcomes into technical delivery, build strong working relationships and communicate clearly will be key to your success. Key Skills and Experience include:
- 10+ years’ experience managing, configuring, enhancing, and maintaining datacentre, cloud, LAN, WAN, and security network services
- Strong routing and switching expertise across technologies such as Cisco, Palo Alto, Aruba, Juniper
- Hands‑on experience with firewall platforms including Palo Alto, Fortinet, Cisco
- Experience in load balancing technologies such as F5 or NetScaler (desirable)
- Experience with wireless and NAC solutions such as Cisco ISE, Aruba ClearPass, or Meraki
- Working knowledge of cloud networking across Microsoft Azure and AWS
- Technical certifications in relevant technology areas (Security and Network vendors)
