About the Role
As a Systems Engineer, you will be a critical member of a high performing Infrastructure Services team responsible for the administration, management, and maintenance across Cloud Infrastructure and on-prem services for our customers. This is a hands-on technical role focusing on resolution of escalated IT service issues and delivering desired assigned tasks’ outcomes within various domains including but not limited to Microsoft Windows and Linux servers, SQL Server, cloud computing, virtualisation technologies and security. The role is critical in supporting the highest levels of systems and providing technical direction to junior engineers. As our Systems Engineer, you will have the exciting opportunity to ensure the smooth running of systems for clients who have engaged us as their Managed Service Provider. You will do this by taking on escalated tickets, employing your expertise to swiftly diagnose and resolve intricate technical challenges, and collaborating closely with cross-functional teams to guarantee seamless IT operations.
This is a hybrid role that may be based from multiple locations & reports into the Technical Lead – Infrastructure Services.
Main Duties
- Fulfilment infrastructure administration and support to the customers including Cloud base and on-prem services.
- Maintenance and management of various on-prem and cloud Infrastructure & services
- Provide level 2 and 3 technical supports to the customers.
- Follow standardised ITIL frameworks relating to Incident, Security, Problem and Change Management processes.
- Optimizing the architecture and infrastructure, cloud, and on-prem services
- Communicate effectively with the internal and external stakeholders.
- Create and maintain strong technical documentation for managed systems and services.
- Attend customer and other stakeholders' meetings where applicable.
- Perform assigned routine security, operating system and SQL servers patching for customers.
- Perform after hours On-Call requests based on Infrastructure services team roster.
- Recommend technology upgrades to improve clients' infrastructure services.
About You
The position will require someone with proven technical experience in relevant infrastructure technologies & an MSP background. This is a great opportunity for an experienced System Engineer to join a highly skilled technical team, providing exposure to a wide range of technologies disciplines. Key skills include:
- At least 7 years' experience in Configuring, administering, and supporting IT infrastructure services including on-prem, cloud services and virtualization.
- Windows Server operating systems and related services such as AD, Group Policy, DNS, DHCP, ADFS. DFS, RDS, etc
- Microsoft SQL Server administration and support
- Linux server administration and support, Microsoft Azure & MS365 products and services
- Networking protocols, Endpoint Security, Email, and internet security concepts and tools
- Backup and disaster recovery tools and technologies
- SSL Certificate and CA concepts, Automation and PowerShell scripts
- VMWare Esxi (Desired)
- Virtual Desktop technologies such as Citrix and Azure Virtual Desktop (Desired)
