About the Role

The Technical Lead will support the Manager - Infrastructure Services & Operations as a ‘technical leader’, whilst leading a team of technical engineers and being responsible for ‘hands on’ delivery and execution of technical operations within the Managed Infrastructure Services space. This role is critical to ensure optimal performance of customer managed IT Infrastructure and ultimate client satisfaction within the services we deliver.

The Technical Lead is a hybrid role consisting of Technical Delivery (70-80%) & Technical Leadership, People Management (20-30%) and reports into the Manager – Infrastructure Services & Operations.

Scope of Role

Technical Lead Delivery -

  • Maintenance and management of various Cloud, Infrastructure & Platform services including on-prem and cloud Wintel deployments
  • Develop, support and enhance deployments of Cloud, Infrastructure and Wintel environments
  • Develop, support and enhance deployments of Cloud services including Azure, Microsoft 365 and Azure AD.
  • Developing and delivering various components of Wintel & infrastructure platforms
  • Optimizing the architecture and infrastructure, cloud and Wintel services
  • Be an SME contributor for projects and initiatives across managed deployments
  • Maintenance and management of a wide range of network services including on-prem, datacentre, cloud, LAN, WAN and security
  • Developing and maintaining secure, reliable and high performing network infrastructure
  • Developing and delivering various components of network infrastructure platforms

Technical Lead Management -

  • Lead a team of technical engineers to ensure our technical delivery is exceeding customer and business expectations.
  • Ensure a high standard of technical engineering performance and quality, striving to identify improvement opportunities to optimise the operations, delivery and execution.
  • Collaborate with our account management team (AM, BDM & SDM) to ensure they can grow the customers trust and dependency across the technical services we deliver.
  • Work with fellow Technical Leads and Managers within the Cloud & Infrastructure Management practice to ensure technical delivery excellence.
  • Work closely with the Cloud & Infrastructure practice managers on major escalations, problems and incidents to ensure adequate action, execution, prevention and service improvement.
  • Maintain, nurture, build and foster a highly skilled technical culture within the Infrastructure Management practice, whilst driving a mindset of technical excellence.
  • Represent the Infrastructure Management practice as a Technical Lead both internally and externally

About You

The role will require a motivated and passionate customer focused, outcome driven enthusiast to be part of the execution of an evolving service delivery and operations strategy. The position will require someone with proven and deep “hands on” technical experience managing, delivering, enhancing and growing infrastructure managed services functions. Skills or experience that the person must possess to be successful in this role:

  • At least 10+ years in managing, configuring, enhancing, and maintaining Infrastructure & Wintel deployments across hybrid cloud environments
  • At least 5+ years building, developing, and optimising Infrastructure & Wintel platform technologies across various IaaS & PaaS based services
  • At least 3+ years experience in a technical lead capacity, leading a team of high performing technical engineers as well as execution of technical outcomes.
  • Strong technical expertise in Infrastructure, Cloud & Network technologies such as:
    • Windows Server Operating Systems
    • Windows technology services such as DNS, DHCP, Active Directory, Group Policy, Exchange Hybrid, etc
    • Microsoft Azure & 365 products and services, Azure AD and Identity Services
    • Network architecture, configuration, and deployment fundamentals
    • Public Cloud Networking (Azure & AWS) including peering and VPN services
    • Next-Generation Firewall products and services, Network Load balancers
    • Wireless solutions including NAC services
    • Virtual and Remote App services such as RDS & AVD
    • On-prem cloud technologies such as VMware, Backup and Data Protection fundamentals
    • High Availability & Disaster Recovery architecture and deployments
  • Extensive knowledge with Microsoft Server technology products
  • Knowledge across Cloud providers such as Microsoft Azure & 365
  • Excellent troubleshooting skills with a high level of analytical and problem solving skills
