About the Role
 


The role sits within the Category Marketing division which drives growth, positioning and profitability of Canon’s consumer product categories. The team develops marketing and sales strategies grounded in consumer insights, market trends and competitive analysis to create demand, strengthen category leadership and deliver measurable business impact.


This position plays a key part in Canon’s success by leading the development and execution of our integrated retail, customer and trade marketing program. You will champion innovation, elevate the retail experience, drive product sell‑in and activate brand initiatives across our retail network. It is a hybrid role, based in Macquarie Park and reports to the Senior Manager – Category Marketing.


Scope of the Role
 

  • Lead the development and execution of an integrated trade marketing program and campaigns that maximise category performance and deliver on objectives across Canon Oceania.
  • Build awareness and preference for Canon campaigns, products and promotions among retailers (head office, store owners) and retail staff.
  • Increase visibility, elevate the retail experience and drive conversion of Canon products and promotions across all retail touchpoints, including in‑store, online and retailer advertising.
  • Oversee Canon’s brand and product representation in store, including displays, segmentation and point‑of‑sale materials.
  • Manage point‑of‑sale and digital campaign assets from creative development and production through to merchandising execution.
  • Act as the subject matter expert on in‑store conversion and retail experience.
  • Champion alignment between Sales and Marketing to ensure both functions operate as a cohesive unit, leveraging all 4Ps and communication levers to drive conversion and margin.


About you
 

The ideal candidate will be a highly organised, creative and enthusiastic marketer who thrives in fast‑paced environments and can confidently influence a wide range of stakeholders. They may come from an agency background and seeking the opportunity to move into an in‑house role where they can take greater ownership, influence outcomes more directly and work closer to the business. Key skills and experience include:

  • 2+ years’ marketing experience, ideally including trade marketing or agency exposure
  • Proven ability to manage large‑scale projects and meet stakeholder expectations
  • Hands‑on experience designing and delivering customer‑centric marketing and trade programs
  • Self‑starter who thrives in environments with ambiguity
  • Experience working within retail or FMCG businesses and collaborating across multiple teams
