About the role

The Financial Analyst is responsible for ensuring that all journal entries, month-end allocations, and general ledger reconciliations are completed accurately and reported on a timely basis to enable other divisions to make effective business decisions.  He/she is also capable of analysing trends/variances and providing actionable insights on them. 

 

Essential duties 

Financial/Commercial 

  • Ensure that all journal entries are processed accurately and on time for monthly reporting 

  • Ensure all month end allocations are processed before month end close 

  • Finalize year end accounts by ensuring that amounts and documentation supplied by divisions are fully supported, and aligned with policies and standards 

  • Coordinate and ensure that all general ledger reconciliations are completed accurately and on a timely basis 

  • Ensure that reconciling items are cleared on a timely basis 

  • Process monthly billing statements/invoices to customers and ensure intercompany reconciliations w/ affiliates especially within a finance team, with strong understanding of accounting process, principles, and exposure to various finance systems 

 

Qualifications & Experience 

  • Relevant tertiary qualification, specifically in the finance or accounting area 

  • 2 to 4 years working experience in the field of Finance and Accounting, with a strong understanding of accounting process, principles, and exposure to various finance systems
