About the Role
The IT Engineer is responsible for providing 24-hour support for operations for desktop software and hardware configuration, implementation, and maintenance as well as various technologies managed by the IT department. This person will focus on the administration of the company's local IT Infrastructure to include desktop PC’s, networking, and software applications.
The IT Engineer will be a very hands-on, member of the IT support team responsible for desktop, laptop configuration, mobile device, network and application support including Windows operating systems and software and other applications. This is an internal customer-facing role, and requires excellent prioritization, responsiveness, and customer service, along with excellent verbal communication skills.
Essential Duties
• IT point of contact in cases where IT Support Team Leader or Senior IT Support is not available
• Provide technical recommendations and solutions for Network, Software and Hardware issues
• Provide IT support to customers, clients and other departments.
• Ensure that applications, services and networks are up and running
• Continuous audits on assets, both hardware and software
• Status monitoring of hardware, system and network components
• May be assigned to systems administration projects
• Anticipate trends in computing that affects IT Operations - Operation Systems, Monitoring Systems, Databases, Application Servers, Security, Firewalls and Networking
• Assist clients, operations, and other business units on hardware/network issues
• Provide user maintenance and assistance as required to ensure production IT systems continue operating at peak efficiency
• Other duties and responsibilities may be assigned by immediate supervisor/manager
Qualifications
• At least K-12 Graduate or better
• Understanding of Systems and Network Infrastructures
• Understanding of Computer’s hardware and software components
• Strong communication, analytical and problem-solving skills
• Adaptable "Can-do" attitude
