About the Role

The IT Operations and Maintenance Support role is part of the infrastructure support team responsible for the management of all our infrastructure managed customers. These customers rely on Harbour IT to keep their Infrastructure running and meeting their needs which in turn allows the customer to focus on running their business. Infrastructure Management is one of Harbour IT’s key products and is critical to the success of the business.


The primary role of the IT Operations and Maintenance Support is to deliver exceptional customer service while managing and maintaining our customer’s network environments and providing support and mentoring to Infrastructure Support Technicians/Engineers (Generalists) within the Infrastructure Support team. The support provided must be achieved within contracted SLAs and meeting our customers’ expectations at all times.


As an IT Operations and Maintenance Support, this role requires a good range of technical capabilities in line with technologies we manage for our customers as well as the ability to troubleshoot issues and leading proper root cause analysis to drive down the re-occurrence of similar incidents.

 

Qualifications  

  • Monitor, manage, and diagnose infrastructures alerts (Server and Network Infrastructure)
  • Provide server health checks reports to the customers
  • Execute server patching as per schedule
  • Triage infrastructure related issues presented as Incidents and Service Requests
  • Update Access Management thru Active Directory, Exchange and File Server
  • Backup Management (Commvault, Backup Exec, ArcServe and Veeam)
  • Incident, Problem and Change Management as per HIT/client processes (ITIL Framework)

 

Experience and Capabilities

  •  Experience with Windows Server administration
  • Previous experience in a NOC/Datacenter technician role a plus
  • Experience in server/device monitoring tools (SCOM, BMC ProactiveNet, Nagios, etc) 
  • Experience with ITSM System (ServiceNow) 
  • Strong understanding of the following technologies
  • Microsoft Windows including Active Directory, DNS, DHCP
  • Network and Windows Security
  • Good understanding of other technologies, including a mix from the following
  • Microsoft Exchange and/or other messaging environments
  • Backup Technologies
  • Citrix
  • VMWare
  • Anti-Virus Technologies
  • Working knowledge of the ITIL IT Service Management Framework (ITIL certified a plus)
  • Analytical and problem solving skills
  • Active participation in a rotating 24/7 operations shift schedule
  • Excellent communication skills and customer service skills n. IT Technology certifications (e.g. MTA, MCP, MCSA, CCNA, etc) desirable but not essential
