About the Role

  • The Infrastructure Support Network Engineer role is part of the infrastructure support team responsible for the management of all our infrastructure managed customers. These customers rely on Harbour IT to keep their Infrastructure running and meeting their needs which in turn allows the customer to focus on running their business. Infrastructure Management is one of Harbour IT’s key products and is critical to the success of the business.
  • The primary role of the Infrastructure Support Network Engineer  is to deliver exceptional customer service while managing and maintaining our customer’s network environments and providing support and mentoring to Infrastructure Support Technicians/Engineers (Generalists) within the Infrastructure Support team. The support provided must be achieved within contracted SLAs and meeting our customers’ expectations at all times.
  • As an infrastructure support network technician, this role requires a good range of technical capabilities in line with technologies we manage for our customers as well as the ability to troubleshoot issues and leading proper root cause analysis to drive down the re-occurrence of similar incidents.

 

Qualifications  

  • 5+ years of experience in similar role.
  • 5+ years' recent experience in providing network support including firewalls, load balancers, switches, routers, wireless solutions
  • Basic to intermediate understanding and experience with Linux distribtions
  • Experience in Layer 7 Firewall
  • Experience in Azure and Load Balancer
  • Experience with network monitoring protocols and management systems (Netflow, SNMP)
  • Ability to work in a team with a shared workload
  • Keeping up-to-date with infrastructure technologies and trends within the industry
  • Excellent verbal and written communication and problem solving skills; strong customer-oriented interpersonal skills
  • CCNA, CCNP Certified and other relevant Network certifications
  • Keen understanding of the following: Cisco ASA, Cisco CSM, Tufin, Algosec, Juniper and Zscaler
  • Maintain the integrity and security of network and the systems connected.
  • Assist various departments and clients to meet their needs regarding Site-to-Site and Remote Access VPN.
  • Implement and monitor firewalls (Fortinet, Checkpoint and Cisco) security policies.
  • Resolve customers query over the phone as well as emails regarding the flow of traffic between different hosts and subnets to allow them to get a seamless connectivity between different networks.
  • Administer networking stability and monitor all work regularly.
  • Troubleshoot networks, systems, and applications to identify and correct malfunctions and other operational difficulties.
  • Monitoring and administering CISCO Meraki switches, routers, and Iron ports.
  • Port Monitoring network security devices, audit logs and connectivity
  • Configure, manage, maintain and optimize Forti-Manager and Fortinet Firewalls using FortiManager, Forticlient and FortiAnalyzer
  • Configure, support and troubleshoot Fortinet devices (60D, 200D, 500D, 600C, 800C, 900D, 1500D, 3700D, FAZ, FMG, 5144C, FCTRL, FML, FG) which includes the routing protocols (static, BGP), switching (Vlans, VCP, VPLS), NAT, firewall policies, SNMP, SYSLOG, LDAP and manage all the network gear related functions
