About the Role
The purpose of the Payroll Coordinator role is to process core EIS & payroll information from new start to daily information to termination and to resolve manager queries within timeframe targets.
Focus groups within the role include Master Data Administration, Operational work and Customer Response duties. The ultimate goal is to ensure that our people are paid accurately, on time and in accordance with Legislation, NZ Post Policy and respective employment agreements.
Essential Duties
Customer Satisfaction
- Ensures that NZ Post people are paid correctly, on time and in accordance with the appropriate employment agreement, legislation & company policy
- Ensure employee personnel records (system& manual) are maintained accurately & current at all times
- Reviews actions taken in making payments
- Maintaining all elements of data for those employee groups assigned
- Undertakes routine administrative support functions as required
- Handles payroll enquiries and provides resolution to complex employee queries
- Undertakes projects which could include testing of developments / enhancements to the EIS system or processes which impact on specific pay groups, being involved in reviews of specific EIS data
Confidentiality
- Maintains the confidentiality and security of all payroll documentation by keeping filing up to date and secure and being aware of non-payroll people in the EIS Service Centre.
- Shares information appropriately.
Team Support
- Providing training and support to team members to ensure best practice delivery of services
- Mentoring and up-skilling other team members
- Knowledge sharing
Relationship Management
- Maintain quality relationships with internal and external customers so that the EIS service needs are being met by responding to all internal/external customers queries within 48 hours; initiate opportunities to improve the quality of documentation from team leaders and follow up with them directly
Training and Development
- Attends all training sessions as scheduled by the EIS Process Analyst / Payroll Trainer to ensure that expertise on the EIS system is current and accurate. Familiarity with the EIS system is essential
- Keeps up to date and understand changes to policy, procedures, employment legislation and the EA’s as they come into effect
Qualifications
- Payroll practitioner experience using HRIS (HR/Payroll) applications
- Worked in a team environment in an open plan office
- Worked for a large complex organisation with multiple sites and a unionised workforce Hours of work will be mostly during the daytime. However, additional hours may be required from time to time.
