About the Role

The People & Culture Coordinator will nsure an efficient and successful shared administrative service for Canon Australia and New Zealand, while providing support to the whole People and Culture team.

The role will be assigned the following responsibilities:

  • Handle HR Help Desk and HRConnect requests efficiently, delegating tasks as needed;
  • Respond to queries in the HR Advisory mailbox, escalating when necessary;
  • Prepare and distribute HR letters (e.g., service anniversaries, probation, contract changes) promptly;
  • Maintain employee files, contracts, and HR records;
  • Ensure the accuracy and security of the HR Information System;
  • Process pre-employment checks (Criminal, Visa, etc.);
  • Verify onboarding documents;
  • Update internal contacts with IT Department coordination;
  • Support recruitment by posting job ads, updating platforms, and assisting with phone screenings;
  • Manage recruitment systems, ensuring all avenues are up to date;
  • Process applications, including interviews and reference checks;
  • Ensure all roles have position descriptions and follow up when needed;
  • Comply with HR policies and highlight improvements for HR and recruitment processes;
  • Produce monthly and ad hoc reports as needed.

Qualifications

  • Tertiary qualification
  • At least 1-2 years’ experience in HR related field
  • Knowledge and exposure to a range of HR issues and practices especially in HR administration and Recruitment preferred
  • Knowledge of general HR practices
