Finance & Accounting provides other divisions with financial information to enable them to make effective business decisions. F&A also implements and monitors effective financial controls. The role of the Sr. Financial Accountant is to support Canon Finance Australia (CFA) GL, Intercompany journals and reconciliation review, and assist in month-end closing activities by reviewing the quality output of the team members and help the Process Lead and Operations Supervisor in consolidation. Help provide feedback to juniors in the team and provide coaching/feedback if opportunity arises.
Essential duties Financial / Commercial
• Be involved in assisting with audit & compliance requirements
including Sarbanes Oxley.
Customer
• Ensure all transaction out of GL and intercompany under Canon
Finance Australia
• Ensure all queries are handled promptly and professionally
Process
• Ensure all reconciliations are completed in accordance with
monthly timetable
• Identify any issues on reconciliations as they arise. Escalate any
material issues to management
• Liaise with relevant F&A staff and other Canon staff to clear
outstanding items on reconciliations.
• Review and document own work processes and procedures and
suggest improvements for same
• Participate in any projects where required
• Ensure all journals are completed in accordance with monthly
reporting timetables
• Ensure all reconciliations are completed in accordance with
monthly timetables
• Identify any issues on reconciliations as they arise. Escalate any
material issues to management
Qualifications
• Bachelor’s/College Degree in Accounting or equivalent
• At least 3-5 year (s) of working experience in the related field is
required
• Computer literacy (minimum Intermediate Excel, Intermediate
Access)
• Excellent communication skills verbal and written
• Good level of initiative
• Eye for detail
• Efficient time management
