Essential Duties

  1. Be an integral member of a remote team of engineers (located in South Australia) to plan, design, build and maintain complex, high performance data adapters and parsers for Snare Solutions.
  2. Ensure product quality by developing unit tests and supporting QA activities.
  3. Ensure high security standards of the developed software.
  4. Be part of a collaborative team as we implement Agile methods and improve our automated testing and continuous delivery pipelines
  5. Be open to researching, learning and using new technologies and new APIs.
  6. Be part of an environment that fosters innovation and welcomes new ideas
  7. Keep up to date with technical trends, tools and methodologies and undertake research as required


  1. Minimum 3-5 years’ experience developing in several languages
    • writing C/C++ code using object-oriented methodologies
    • having skills in one or more other languages such as Golang, Perl, Python, Unix Scripting
    • handing JSON and XML data
    • network protocols such as UDP, TCP and TLS
    • syslog protocols desirable
    • cryptographic technologies like certificates, AES, hashing, FIPS compliance
    • Solid Linux experience, Ubuntu if possible
  2. Have solid understanding of REST APIs and experience using the APIs. Experience in API development is a big plus.
  3. Knowledge of professional software engineering best practices for the full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews and code instrumentation
  4. Demonstrated experience with large scale projects using existing frameworks, and small special purpose applications built from scratch, without framework assistance
  5. Demonstrated experience building/debugging multithreaded applications for deployment on Windows and Unix-based operating systems
  6. Using job automation tools/IDE such as Clion, Visual Studio and Jenkins
  7. Demonstrated experience using revision control systems GIT
  8. Worked with Jira, Bitbucket and Confluence
  9. Experience with other languages/frameworks including C# .NET
  10. Solid communication skills and can converse with the team in English.
